Alpha Media-Dayton is looking for a full-time Director of Marketing to be located in our Dayton, Ohio office. We operate five great radio stations in Dayton and are a part of the Alpha Media USA family that owns and operates 135 stations in 28 markets across the US.

We are live and local in every market and can’t wait to talk to you!

Reporting to the Senior VP/Market Manager, the Marketing Director manages the Promotions Department for the Dayton Market, as well as coordinates and manages all cluster wide promotional activity, community partnerships, trades, relationships and events with the assistance of the Promotions Department.  The Marketing Director also works closely with all Program Directors, Director of Programming, Director of Sales, all Sales Managers, Controller and Accounts Payable.

The ideal candidate for this role is someone with the dynamic ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment with the ability to facilitate and manage in a highly create environment.

We are looking for the individual who meets the minimum requirements below:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or the equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • A minimum of 4 years in radio or media promotions with a minimum of two years of supervisory or management experience
  • Proven experience with event planning, including experience managing contracts and insurance requirements for venue, company and client
  • Proven experience developing relationships with media outlets in television, and newspapers, including professional sports teams and establishing exclusive partnerships with significant community events and organizations
  • Experience supervising / overseeing the production of marketing commercials, print work, and other collateral materials
  • Project management experience, including the development and management of budgets
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Proven experience dealing with constantly evolving deadlines in a fast paced environment
  • Must be available and willing to work evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Must be reachable via phone and/or email after business hours
  • Extremely knowledgeable with all Microsoft Office programs (emphasis on Power Point, Excel and Word)
  • Experience with organic and paid social media campaigns


Preference may be given to candidates who meet the above requirements and have the following:

  • Knowledge of Promosuite, Marketron, and online CMS (Vortal or WordPress)
  • Graphic design (Photoshop/Illustrator), photography and/or video editing (Adobe Suite) abilities desired
  • Knowledge of digital ad buying and best practices (AdWords, Bing Ads, etc)
  • Experience with mobile app management via a content management system

Reports To:      Marketing Communications Manager      Department:       Marketing


Basic Function

As a member of the Marketing Communications team the Marketing Intern will assist in the creative aspects of the marketing communications initiatives with specific focus on executing key tasks on the e-learning initiative.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Assist Marketing Communications team in the design of collateral and tools for large projects and long range strategic plans.
  • Comfortable working on a range of design tasks based on strategic marketing guidance and customer requests, including brochures, flyers, ads, signage, email, web, video, photos and presentation work.
  • Duties include but not limited to:

– Video and photo editing

– Print, web, and email design

  • Assist team in e-learning initiatives and designing the material
  • Work closely with product manager to collect e-learning initiatives
  • Draft storyboard and training plan for e-learning initiatives
  • Maintain document management system on the internal shared drive. Includes organizing and naming all literature and photo files. Create standard procedures for new item additions.
  • Manage all corporate related marketing requests.
  • Complete technical data sheets changes.
  • Assist with PowerPoint presentation development.
  • Evaluates company’s online presence and suggest improvement plan and graphics
  • Conduct market research as necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.


Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Must have prior experience with PC’s and PC based software, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with design programs such as Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Premier.  (Or equivalent design software)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Extremely organized and able to easily multi-task large volumes of projects at once.
  • Able to drive marketing programs in a team environment, but work independently with minimal creative direction.
  • Able to wear multiple hats and willingness to work on a variety of projects


Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • 3D modeling software experience
  • Experience in HTML and HTML editing tools
  • Articulate e-learning software experience
  • Video production experience


Minimum Education Requirements

Currently Enrolled in College or University for BA/BS degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, Advertising, or related field.

The Communications Manager will plan, write and coordinate a wide variety of marketing projects for the purpose of supporting our sales force and employee audiences. This position reports to the Vice President of Marketing.



2 – 5 years of marketing, advertising and/or communications experience

Bachelor’s degree in related field

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to craft message and position for each project

Project management skills

Self-starter; goal oriented; critical thinker

Attention to detail; an eye for quality

Creative, adaptability, leadership



Understand and promote brand image and identity

Develop, execute and deploy a wide variety of marketing media for new and existing services

Create and produce materials designed to educate and inform employees

Understand target audiences – internal and external

Collaborate with internal departments like sales, operations and safety

Manage suppliers with regard to quality, deadlines and budget

Adhere to budgets, deadlines and quality practices

Continuously improve processes and knowledge
