Job Description:
The Senior (Sr.) Marketing Specialist has dual responsibilities: 1) executes and/or assists others in the implementation of marketing strategies and objectives for the more-complex and high-profile umbrella brand marketing campaigns and/or high-impacting marketing projects and programs, and 2) develops, implements and manages long-term marketing/advertising tactics for the credit union’s niche market products and services.
Key Responsibilities:
- As the senior level marketing specialist in the marketing department, assists the Director of Marketing and Business Development by: 1) successfully administering and executing the credit union’s umbrella brand marketing campaigns, key projects and products and/or services, 2) establishing fully integrated marketing tactics and establishing aligned metrics, 3) deadlines, budgets and results are consistently met, and 4) ensuring tactics, messaging and produced materials are aligned with the credit union’s brand strategy and voice. (30%)
- Project managing marketing initiatives throughout the creative development and approval process including: writing and overseeing content for marketing and communication-related materials, collaborating in the design and development of produced pieces/campaigns, coordinating deadlines, managing internal and external partners, and gaining compliance approvals (25%)
- Creates, administers and executes individual mid to high-level integrated marketing/advertising campaigns and/or tactic (action) plans for assigned projects and for ongoing niche market products and/or services, such as financial planning and business services. (25%)
- Under the direction of the Director of Marketing and Business Development, keeps up-to-date and assists in the development of a fully-integrated marketing annual plan that incorporates both existing credit union marketing programs and new strategic and tactical programs. (10%)
- Other duties as assigned, such as - but not limited to - reconciling monthly marketing department budget and working with fellow specialists on coordinating the day-to-day movements of projects in the marketing pipeline. (10%)
Required Qualifications:
- At least a Bachelor’s (BA/BS) Degree in Marketing or Advertising and a minimum of 5 years of hands-on marketing experience managing complex, fully-integrated, high-profile marketing/advertising campaigns; or, 12 years of equivalent experience with expertise in the following disciplines: marketing, communication, advertising, promotion, branding, public relations, member/market research, website management and copywriting.
- Excellent motivational and interpersonal skills with the ability to “lead” in a non-supervisory capacity.
- Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of marketing techniques and best practices and has a broad marketing background with experience across multiple disciplines and channels (i.e., advertising, media, online, mobile, CRM, retail, direct, mass etc) targeting both direct-to-customer and business-to-business.
- Demonstrates ability to lead and manage projects across multiple teams or groups, including process, and vendor management while consistently ensuring brand integrity.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Excellent organization skills and the ability to work independently and multi-task with minimal supervision, while effectively identifying, organizing and prioritizing multiple projects for themselves and others.
- Demonstrates the ability to thrive and succeed in a dynamic and fast-paced, and high-energy environment: can manage multiple campaigns, events and/or projects while consistently ensuring the credit union’s brand integrity while working with multiple and shifting priorities, which sometimes can be conflicting.
- Appropriately responds to constructive feedback.
